Plasma Calf IgG Midland Quick Test Kit®
Importance of Colostrum IgG in the Newborn Calf
Disease Protection
IgG protects the calf from disease in it’s first 24 to 48 hours of life until it’s own immune system becomes fully functional.
Provision of Growth Factors and Hormones
Regulates development of the digestive system in the newborn calf.
Nutritional
A rich source of minerals and vitamins, protein, fat, casein, and increases the immunoglobulin content for passive immunity.
Passive Transfer of Immunity
The only source of maternal immunoglobulins (Ig) and antibodies to protect the newborn calf from disease.
A Simple and Fast Method for Identifying IgG Levels in the Newborn Calf
Midland BioProducts Corporation® is introducing the Plasma Calf IgG Midland Quick Test Kit® in a plasma format.
Once a sample of plasma is obtained from the calf’s whole blood, a pre-measured sample is mixed with the provided dilution liquid. Place a few drops of the diluted plasma in the well on the test cassette. In approximately 20 minutes, the appearance of a horizontal line in the Control (C) position tells you the test is working. A line appearing in the Test (T) position will indicate if the level of IgG in the sample is below 10 mg/ml. The absence of a line in the “T” position indicates the level of IgG in the blood is greater than 10 mg/ml. Click here for References
